What does a scan check?

Same-site pages and links, failed resources, uncaught JavaScript errors, console errors, and horizontal overflow at desktop and phone size. The check list.

Does it emulate a phone?

The phone pass opens pages the scan already visited in Chromium mobile emulation (390×844 at device scale 3, a Chrome-on-Android identity and touch) and checks horizontal overflow only. It is an emulation, not a physical device, and it does not crawl a separate mobile site. The optional visual comparison has its own phone-width picture, which is a different mode and is not a physical-device test either; a visual difference is a change for review, not a defect.

How are passwords handled?

Evidence Engine does not collect the website-login password. You enter it directly into the isolated browser. HTTP Basic Auth is typed into the app and kept in memory for the session, not written to disk. Privacy.

What will it refuse to do?

It is not a security scanner, a load test, or a crawl of a whole application. It stays inside the ceilings on the product page. Limits.

What does a recheck mean?

Still present, Resolved, Not reproduced yet, or unable to verify. Resolved takes two clean checks. A JavaScript exception stays "Not reproduced yet" when a later check does not see it. Absence alone does not make it Resolved.

How much is it, and what does one license cover?

The price is stated once, on Pricing.

Is there a trial?

When the trial link opens: 7 days, no card, scans up to 30 pages and 30 links, one Windows user on one PC. Trial terms.

What does a skipped link mean?

Links seen but not requested because the limit was reached are not tests and not passes.

Where is the installer?

The signed installer is not published yet. The first public version will be 0.3.0. Download.

Where do scans go?

They stay on the PC. Activation sends the license key, an instance id, and a name built from the PC name to Lemon Squeezy. Privacy.

Can I get a refund?

The proposed wording, which has not been approved as a final policy, is: no change-of-mind refund after the license is delivered, except where the law requires one; a duplicate charge, a failed delivery, or a key that will not activate is fixed or refunded.
